FAQ
-
Your first therapy session is an opportunity for your therapist to get to know you in a safe, supportive space. We’ll talk about what is bringing you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you may have. We’ll ask some questions to understand your history, experiences, and what’s been working or not working for you. We will also introduce some key aspects of our approach. Intake forms will be sent out in advance, so that you have an opportunity to reflect on some of these ideas in advance (if you choose).

The 20-minute call is a chance for us to connect and see if working together feels like a good fit. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where you can share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy and ask any questions you have about our approach.
We might explore:
What you’re looking for support with
How we work, including the approaches we use
What you’re hoping to get out of therapy
Any logistical questions (scheduling, fees, session format, etc.)
This call is also an opportunity to notice how you feel talking with us —feeling safe and comfortable with your therapist is essential for deep healing work. There’s no expectation to share everything; this is simply a space to see if we’re a good match for your journey.

We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all changes to appointments.

Most insurance policies cover services provided by Registered Psychotherapists (RP) and Registered Social Workers (RSW). All of our therapists have Master’s level degrees and are registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or the College of Ontario Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). All insurance policies are different, so it is advised to check with your insurance provider before scheduling the first session.
Once payment is received, a receipt will be provided, with all the relevant information, so you can submit it to your provider for reimbursement.
